Privacy Notice
This notice explains what personal information the Tierra Nava Opol community website collects, why, and how it is protected, in line with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173). The website is run for the residents of Tierra Nava Opol by the subdivision’s Homeowners Association (HOA).
What we collect
- Resident accounts: your name, email address, block and lot, whether you are a homeowner, family member or tenant, and (if you give it) your mobile number. The HOA uses this to confirm that you live in Tierra Nava Opol before approving your account.
- Marketplace stores: the store details, photos, prices and contact information you choose to publish. These are public so neighbors can reach you.
- Announcements: the text and photos you submit, published under your display name after HOA approval.
- Group chats: the messages you send. They are visible to members of that group and to the site administrators, who can remove messages that break the community rules.
- Complaints: anonymous complaints are not linked to a name, an account or an IP address. If you add an email address for updates, it is visible only to the HOA admin and is used only to send you updates about that complaint.
- Polls and event RSVPs: which account or household voted or said it is going. Only totals are shown publicly; individual votes are not published.
- Contact forms: your name, email and message, sent to the HOA by email.
- Cookies: the website uses cookies only to keep you logged in and to protect forms against misuse. It does not use advertising cookies.
How we use and share it
Your information is used only to run the community website: verifying residents, publishing what you choose to share, sending notifications you asked for, and handling complaints. We do not sell or rent personal information. It is shared only with HOA officers who need it for these purposes, or when required by law.
How long we keep it
Account information is kept while your account is active. You may ask the HOA to close your account; your profile is then removed, and anything you published may be removed or kept without your name where it is needed for the community record (for example, a resolved complaint).
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you may ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, object to its use, and file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission. You can update your name and mobile number anytime under My Account → Profile. For anything else, contact the HOA using the contact form.
Security
The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, approval of every new account, and spam protection on public forms. Please keep your password private and log out on shared devices.
